Description:
The Browning Recoilless is a single shot trap style shotgun that was designed to make for a lessened recoil in shooting. This shotgun was not manufactured for very long and is a rare find. As a round was fired, a complicated system would send a reciprocating force forward to cancel out the felt recoil of the shooter. This does not completely eliminate the shock force of the 12-gague round, however, it significantly lessens the transfer of energy into the shooter. While a complicated system, this makes for a great gun to train new shooters on. Similar systems of recoil mitigation are found on modern firearm platforms, such as the AEK-971 and the AK-107. This shotgun makes a 12 ga cartridge recoil more like a .410. I shot my first 25 straight with this model and love it.
