Description:
An early Post-War Smith M + P; often referred to as the "Pre-Model 10." This one is equipped with a 4 inch barrel and wears an "S" prefix in the serial number indicating it left the factory as a commercial version sometime between DEC 1944 and MAR 1948.
Its not mint, but it is in really nice shape. A slight spot on right side of the frame shows where a small bit of surface rust impacted the blueing.
