Description:
Browning Olympian bolt action rifle, chambered in .243 Winchester.

The Crème-de-la-crème of the Belgium Browning bolt action rifle line was the fabulous Olympian.  From the coin finished, master engraved action, floor plate and trigger guard to the impeccable Olympian stock with fine checkering and intricately carved borders the Olympian was instantly identified and still admired.

This gun is a scarce Varmint configuration on the “short” Sako action.

The action engraving was executed by none other than Browning master engraver Jose Baerten and the bottom metal engraved by well known Browning engraver Alfonse Marechal.  The metal is in impeccable original condition.  Included are photos of the inside metals to supplement the negative Silver Nitrate test showing absolutely no signs of “salt” contamination/damage since the manufacture date of this gun,1968 falls in the “salt” era.

The bluing on the 23 ½” heavy/varmint barrel is 99%+.

The stock has one small “ding” on the upper left edge of the stock, visible right under the rear feet of the engraved pronghorn antelope engraved on the action. Also there is a second “ding” on the right side of the forearm right behind the contrasting “tip”.  Otherwise the stock finish, checkering, carving are perfect.

The action looks like it did the day it was made..perfect.  Even the bolt face is unmarked making this rifle appear unfired.

This is a true collector quality, scarce configured Olympian .243, made 57 years ago in 1968.
