Description:

The Remington 510 Targetmastersmoothbore is a .22 caliber, single-shot, bolt-action firearm designed to fire .22 shotshells. It's known for its smoothbore barrel, meaning it's not rifled like a traditional rifle barrel. This makes it well-suited for small pest control and varmint hunting where a wider shot spread is desired.
Key Features of the Remington 510 Smoothbore:
  • Caliber: .22 Short, .22 Long, or .22 Long Rifle shot cartridges.
  • Action: Single-shot, bolt-action.
  • Barrel: Smoothbore, not rifled.
  • Purpose: Designed for pest control and small varmint hunting.
  • Availability: Typically found in a variety of configurations, including some with a "Routledge Bore" counterbore for improved shot pattern.
  • Production History: The 510 was produced by Remington from 1939 to 1962, with approximately 558,686 units manufactured.

In essence, the Remington 510 smoothbore is a specialized .22 rifle that offers a unique shooting experience compared to standard rifled .22 rifles. It's well-suited for situations where a broader shot spread and a more versatile firearm are needed.

In very good untouched original condition. Excellent bore functions as it should. Please see images for your own evaluation.

UPDATE INFO - I've had further questions about condition. I recently removed action / barrel from stock and did some light cleaning and further inspection. This 510 is in very good high condition overall. The wood is very lovely with no cracks or bad marks of any kind. Showing only light places here and there seen in images. The metal is also very good. It does show very light plum brown patina and speckled areas. The bore is very good to excellent condition. Indoor and outdoor shown images. Very handsome 510 still showing case colors on bolt, trigger and safety. Nothing has been redone or refinished. Made 1946.

Thank you for looking!
