32767-SUPERIOR SPRINGFIELD KRAG U.S. MODEL 1896 .30-40 CAL. RIFLE. All original and matching and correct as to model year of production and in excellent plus condition. Has most of the original blue with light patina. Stock and forend with the original finish and nice crisp Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche dated 1896. Minor chip at left side near front of magazine. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Serial number in block issued to the 5th U.S. Infantry which served in the Philippines War in 1900 (SRS Vol. 1 page 34). $1500.
