32778- SPRINGFIELD KRAG U.S. MODEL 1895 SAN JUAN HILL SADDLE RING .30-40 CAL. CARBINE. Springfield Research Volume 1 page 32 indicates that this carbine was originally in the serial block of issues to the 1st U. S. Cavalry Volunteers in 1896 who served later in the Spanish-American War at San Juan Hill. In addition it is a scarce “1895” model (see Flayderman #94-410) as stamped on receiver. 100% original and matching and excellent with much of the original blue with light handling patina and all the stock finish. Very crisp Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche date stamped “1896”. Working order and excellent bore. $3900.
