Description:
H. Sherping Double Hammer Shotgun – Master-Level Craftsmanship (Made 1911)

An exceptional example of early 20th-century German gunmaking, this H. Sherping double hammer shotgun (circa 1911) showcases the highest level of craftsmanship. Sherping was awarded the prestigious title of “Büchsenmacher”, an official German designation reserved for only the finest makers.
This firearm features:
  • Deep relief game scene engraving, nearly three-dimensional in depth and detail
  • Sir Joseph Whitworth Fluid Steel barrels – 29½", Nitro proofed, mirror-perfect .730 bores, choked Full/Full
  • Gold barrel bands at the breech – a subtle but elegant enhancement
  • Jones under-lever bolting system – renowned as the strongest lockup ever designed for breech-loading shotguns
Recently restocked with highly figured wood, the gun now sports a Prince of Wales grip and leather-covered recoil pad. The stock dimensions are excellent, offering ideal handling and balance whether you're on the field or at the clay course:
  • LOP: 14 5/8"
  • Drop at comb: 1 7/16"
  • Drop at heel: 2 5/8"
  • Weight: 6 lbs 15 oz
Mechanically sound and ready to shoot. This is not only a stunning collector’s piece but also a fully functional sporting arm.
