The Denver Ordnance Plant, operated by the Remington Arms Company, was completed in just 7 months, providing finished rounds by October 1941. It was the only facility in the country to produce caliber .30 ammunition exclusively, and production included ball, armor piercing, tracer, and incendiary cartridges, with a daily output, on a 24-hour basis, of 4,000,000 cartridges. Small arms manufacturing at Denver was terminated by the government as of July 31, 1944. The Denver Ordnance Plant label has the unique WWII blue and yellow stripes, which identified the contents as Armor Piercing ammunition, and a hand-stamped lot number .
