This is the french right arm of the cold war used in several conflicts throughout frances colonies from the 1950s to the 1970s. This mas 49/56 is an early century arms import with very few marking on the receiver. The rifle does not have a refurbished marking that you will see with most imports usually this will be a square with a 2 digit year date, this is very close to what a french infantry man would be carrying during 60s. Included with the MAS49/56 is a orginal rubber buttpad, one magzine, apx L 806 scope with scope case, adjustment wrench, and brush. Unfortunately the case strap is missing a rivet but other than that, it is still functional as a storage container. The rifle has no signs of rust and has overall great reat finish with most of the wear being on the bolt carrier. The bolt does not appear to match the rifle based on the bolts orginal serial numbers that were polshed off, a replaced by the armorer during its life in the french military.
