Giles and Shuey in One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes, 1856-1956 indicate there was only one loading with the over-label before the graphics changed in 1912. The primary label remains intact with excellent graphics, a detailed cartridge cut with the ".44 Flat" designation having the Model 1866 call out and the "Lesmok" powder red label. The box is now solid showing older glue and tape repairs with the bottom portion having more recent cardboard inserts. The cartridges all appear correct and native to the box. A very hard to find 44 flat variant box perfect to pair with an 1866 or complete a collection. Price: $2,295.00 |
