Description:
Serial #238254, 12 Gauge (2 ¾ inch chambers), 30 inch solid rib barrels with bright, excellent bores choked modified and full. This is a Lefever Nitro Special built by Ithaca in 1926. The field grade shotgun features the classic roll engraved flying goose on either side of the receiver with a round knob pistol grip stock. In near excellent condition the barrels retain about 85-90% original blue with some thinning at the breech and some scattered freckles. The receiver shows some of the original case-hardened colors with the balance faded to a pewter gray with scattered carbon staining. The checkered forearm and stock are solid with light use marks, old scratches and thinning of the original finish and does have the original hard rubber butt plate. The LOP is 14 inches with drops of 2 and 3 inches at the comb and heel respectively. The lock up is tight with barrels on face and the lever resting just right of center. A great nearly 100 year old Nitro Special with many years of use left. FFL or C&R
