Description:
We can't find out too much information on this, however it looks just like other examples of this very rare carbine that we were able to find online. Retains a pleasing dark patina overall. Lock is in good working order. You can just make out a P most likely for Potzdam on the lock. Originally made in flint and then converted to percussion. 17 inch octagon barrel. Roughly 32 inches long overall. Brass mountings have a nice dark uncleaned patina. All the parts are proofed. The front lock screw is a replacement with a brass nut on the end. Wood has some age cracks and old repairs but is solid. Appears to be unit marked on the buttplate tang. Roughly .72 caliber. The nose cap appears to be an older sheet brass replacement, most likely was originally all the way to the muzzle based on the screw stud on the bottom of the barrel. Most parts have a Crown over S proof on them, including the iron plate on the left side opposite the lock. The ramrod is broken off in the stock, with the end piece long missing. All in all, a very presentable example of an extremely difficult gun to find.
