This Perugini & Visini Maestro over/under shotgun was manufactured in 1997 in Italy and features a detachable trigger group action with ejectors, a single non-selective trigger, and a non-automatic safety. Chambered in 12 gauge with 2.75" chambers, it is fitted with 27.5" barrels choked Improved Cylinder (.010" of restriction) and Improved Modified (.030" of restriction). It weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces and has a length of pull of 15.75", a drop at comb of 1.5", and a drop at heel of 1.75". A vented tapered matted rib is topped with a red fiber optic front bead.
This gun is in excellent overall condition. The bores are clear, the action is smooth and locks up tightly, the ejectors are strong and well-timed, and the trigger is crisp. Mechanically, it is in outstanding shape.
The action is engraved by master engraver Piero Parravicini with deep relief scroll throughout, complemented by Bulino-style game scenes. The right side of the action shows a falling rooster pheasant in flight, the left side features a woodcock in flight, and the bottom displays a finely rendered English setter. The engraving is signed by Parravicini near the trigger guard.
Stocked with deluxe exhibition-grade walnut, the shotgun features a high-luster oil finish, sharp checkering on the pistol grip and forend, and a black rubber recoil pad. Stock and forend have scant handling marks. A truly deluxe example from the Perugini & Visini workshop, blending high-art engraving with refined Italian craftsmanship.
