Description:
First, to any potential buyers: I am NOT in the business of buying and selling guns. The guns I sell are all from my personal collection and will not be replaced.  As such, I  DO NOT have an FFL which the buyer will have to make sure is o.k. with their receiving FFL prior to shipping as part of the purchase.

For Sale is a 1947 vintage Stevens 325 Bolt Action 30-30. Some background on this rifle is as follows:

The Stevens Model 325 was improved over a three-year period before getting discontinued in early 1950 and then replaced with the Savage 340. Today, these bolt action 30-30s are actually somewhat sought after since they genuinely are light weight, simple, and quick handling brush guns.

The Stevens Model 325 is arguably the rarest of the bunch in that it was quickly replaced with the Stevens 325-A. The Suffix after the model number indicates a design change and in regards to the Stevens 325, the changes were all small improvements over a 3 year period.

I conservatively rate the condition of this rifle as fair primarily because the metal finish is for the most part now a patina from years of storage except for the receiver itself which still has approximately 80% of the original bluing. The other exception is the barrel internals which are like new! Bright, shiny with crisp lands, grooves.  ZERO evidence of any wear, corrosion anywhere inside the barrel. That is probably why it shoots remarkably well.

The condition of the wood is almost without any blemishes on a relatively new, professional refinish.  See pictures.

This particular rifle is completely shootable but has a loose Rear Gas Shield Clip that needs replacing as it will get out of position and bind the bolt sometimes when cycling the bolt on a follow up shot. The replacement part is inexpensive ($3.66) and readily available from Numrich Gun Parts (://gunpartscorp/products/154710b). It comes equipped with a Brownells Quick Set leather sling and one magazine.

This rifle is being sold with the fore knowledge of this part needing replacement, and as such I will NOT honor a return due to this flaw.  Also the rifle is priced accordingly. Otherwise the rifle is as it was equipped from the factory with open rear sight and front sight consisting of a drift adjustable brass blade.

These Stevens 325s and their successor the Savage 340 make great brush guns due to their very light weight (6# 10oz.), very quick handling and the proven 30-30 chambering.

This rifle is ready to provide the shooter/hunter with years of service by simply replacing the rear Gas Shield Clip. This is a small job as it only requires driving out the small pin, replacing with new part, and reinserting the retention pin.

It functions perfectly now for the first shot, but the follow up shots may be affected when bolt is cycled during reloading.

At my age, I am no longer doing any more woods hunting or have use for a 100 yard stalking rifle. For this reason I have decided to sell AS IS and priced accordingly to let a potential buyer make the repair.  Hopefully it is priced low enough to entice someone that can use a pin punch.

My return policy is very liberal since I only want buyers who are completely happy with the gun/s they buy from me. Besides, life is much too short to try and weasel someone out of a few extra bucks! I try very hard not to exaggerate how good the condition is of any my guns as part of selling them.  Again, it's just not worth it to me!  However, I must insist that any buyer contact me BEFORE returning an item, and that the item MUST be in the same condition, i.e. UNUSED as when it was received. I welcome any legitimate offers.

I will accept USPS Money Order, Cashiers Check or Personal Check.  The latter will have to clear before shipping. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you for looking!
