Description:
"Made circa 1814. 45 caliber with a 43.5" barrel. This is an untouched all original Kentucky Rifle by Peter Angstadt. The barrel has dark gray patina. On top of the barrel it is faintly signed “P. Angstadt 1814"  The lock is marked “Spang  &/ Wallace/ Philadelphia" The side plate is one piece brass with two screws. The “roman nose" stock is curly maple and is incised carved on the left hand side of the butt stock. A half moon brass inlay decorates the cheek piece. The patch box is two pieces and lightly engraved. Light carving borders both side of the patch box. Peter Angstadt was from Berks County Pennsylvania and there were two other Angstadt family members who also made rifles, Adam and Joseph. Accompanying this rifle is research of the. This came out of the Tom Seymor Collection
