The barrel has dark gray patina. On top of the barrel it is faintly signed “P. Angstadt 1814" The lock is marked “Spang &/ Wallace/ Philadelphia" The side plate is one piece brass with two screws. The “roman nose" stock is curly maple and is incised carved on the left hand side of the butt stock. A half moon brass inlay decorates the cheek piece. The patch box is two pieces and lightly engraved. Light carving borders both side of the patch box.
