Description:
An unused schuetzen rifle sight.
The former owner described the sight as a "Spare, Unfitted Diopter Rear Sight" and it appears unused. The finish is as-new. It looks like blue over the case hardened finish, or perhaps a fire or nitre blue. I can't say, but it has some blue, purple, and violet shades when examined closely. The finish on the screw threads is as-new, showing no wear.
The sight moves through the full range of adjustment. There's no play and the sight is suitable for precision shooting and competition. This is the nicest piece of a number of schuetzen sights we have for sale. See our other listings for another of the same maker and never used.
The finish on the diopter matches is blueed. The aperture measures about 0.045". The outside diameter 2-1/8".
The parts are marked "JAK" by the maker. I see no markings on the diopter.
It uses a No. 12 clock key (0.175" or about 5 mm) to turn the windage and elevation.
The sight weighs 6.0 ounces, heavier than others we have, due the large diameter of the diopter.
