Description:
Browning Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-70. This carbine was a limited run manufactured by Miroku in 1992. It is chambered in 45-70 and has a blue 22" round barrel and full magazine held together with a carbine barrel band. It is equipped with a rear graduated leaf carbine sight and pinned blade front sight. It has blue finished action and has standard straight grained with some figure, walnut stocks and the wrist and fore stock is checkered, and a blue steel carbine butt plate. It comes with a matching factory box.
Condition:
The overall condition of this carbine is excellent, essentially, new old stock. It features a 22-inch round barrel with a mint bore. The factory deep bluing is in pretty much in unused, near100% condition. The nicely checkered, straight grained walnut stocks are as new with only minor marks from storage.
This is as true a version of Winchester's 1886 carbine in a modern firearm as you can get. It is chambered in the versatile 45-70 and does not have the absurd rebounding hammer and tang safety typical of the more recent versions made by Browning / Miroko. These are very handy rifles with a short length barrel and smooth lever action. This carbine can used for hunting in brush country, used as a farm rifle, or just to target shoot with. These Browning 1886 rifles and carbines are really neat firearms and this one with the checkered stock is especially nice. Frankly, I didn't know Browning had checkered stocks on Grade 1's until I came upon a Browning 1886 rifle that was checkered. This was the first one I saw and only a couple of months ago. Now this carbine with the checkered stock, makes this one truely special. This one comes with a box serial numbered to the carbine.
