Description: Guns Listing ID: 532321 Smith and Wesson didn’t make a lot of shotguns but, during the 70s through the mid 80s, they did have Howa manufacture some shotguns for them that were imported into the U.S. This Model 1000 is one of those. Based on the serial number of FB31372, Smith & Wesson reports that this one was manufactured sometime between 1973 and 1975. This semi-auto shotgun is a 20 Gauge model and will handle 2-3/4” shells. This model was made in both 12 and 20 Gauge, with 20 Gauge being the harder version to find. Ours has a 26” vent rib barrel with an Improved Cylinder choke. There is bead sight at mid-span and a bead at the muzzle. The receiver is engraved alloy. The stock is a checkered pistol grip with a black Smith & Wesson buttplate. There is a black cap on the pistol grip with a blue S&W logo. The safety is a push button, cross bolt type. The wood is in Very Good condition, shows light signs of use but no major defects. The receiver finish is also Very Good. The engraving is clear and sharp. The bore is good and the barrel is bright. Although the barrel retains most of its finish, it does have some areas of light pitting that we have tried to show in the attached pictures. This is a very nice example of a vintage Smith & Wesson shotgun that you don’t see all that often. Reasonably priced, this one is ready to go! Purchase includes the shotgun and a protective gun “sock”. No other accessories are included. This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this shotgun. We have performed our function checks and find no issues. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the shotgun.
