Serial No. 32587B, made in 1889, .22 short, 24\" octagonal barrel  “WINCHESTER’S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 OCTOBER 16.1860- “. Bore is good with some oxidation noted in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Approximately 90% refinish blue remains with some areas starting to thin.Magazine tube has been replaced. Forward of the receiver is marked “22 short", 3RD model dust cover is present, tang is marked “Model 1873" in between decorative scroll, brass carrier has been polished with no caliber marking visible. Wood is in excellent condition as restored. Action functions correctly. Approximately 19,000 .22 caliber Winchester Model 1873’s were manufactured from 1884-1904. (AW903)
