Payment Types Accepted: Description: A fine example of what one might call "America's Handgun," this Colt 1911 is a full-size blued Government model chambered in .45 Auto (.45 ACP). Originally designed for the US military in the early 20th Century, the 1911 is perhaps John Moses Browning's most famous invention and one of the most iconic firearms of history, seeing action in virtually every armed conflict since the First World War. This pistol has a steel slide and frame with polished blued finish, making for a very attractive addition to any collection. The gun is chambered in its original caliber, .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (.45 ACP) and is a 1969 commercial model with the "-C" serial suffix, designating it a commercial model from the factory. The gun has many features as found on a military M1911-A1 model: arched mainspring housing, relief cut in the frame near the trigger guard, short trigger (this one is serrated or grooved, rather than checkered like an A1), fixed iron sights, extended beavertail, and standard hammer. This 1911, being from 1969, has what would become known as the "Series 70" internal ignition system, or the original firing control design without a firing pin safety, as would be changed during the 1980s with the "Series 80" system. The pistol is dressed with plastic stocks/grips featuring the Colt Rampant Pony and has a left side thumb safety. The gun is in excellent condition, both cosmetically and functionally. The slide has a mirror-polished surface and the frame has only a few marks. The rear right corner of the slide has some wear as if it were possibly dinged and then dehorned again. The grips are in good condition and aren't cracked or dirty. The hammer has some tarnishing on the polished flats, but otherwise looks to be in good shape. The barrel is in excellent condition and only exhibits wear from use—no rust, corrosion, or pitting is present. This pistol only includes one Colt 7-round magazine and no box, case, or papers. .45 Auto Price: $1,799.99 Chambers: .45 Auto (.45 ACP) Metal Condition: Very good Bore Condition: Very good Barrels: 5 Triggers: Short grooved/serrated trigger Butt Pad: Plastic with Colt Rampant Pony Weight: 2 lbs 7 oz Sights: Fixed iron sights Item Location: Kearney, NE |
