The Ruger Redhawk revolver was Ruger's first venture into large-bore revolvers, announced in 1979 and hitting store shelves in 1980. The Redhawk is an extremely robust revolver action, using a triple-locked action similar to Smith & Wesson's original triple-lock design. Initially only chambered in .44 Remington Magnum/.44 Special, the Redhawk was later chambered in .41 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .45 Colt, and .45 ACP/.45 Colt. The revolver has a classic design profile with a square butt, adjustable rear design, and ramped front sight with red insert. The barrel rib is also grooved to help reduce glare. The Redhawk has a double/single-action trigger, allowing shooters to shoot with a longer, heavier trigger pull and no manual cocking in double-action, or a shorter, lighter trigger pull in cocked single-action—often ideal for precise target shooting. This Ruger Redhawk is a second-year 1981 production model with a 7 ½" barrel and chambered in .44 Magnum. The gun is built entirely of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and is in very good condition, both cosmetically and operationally. The cylinder exhibits only light discoloration at the front and the barrel face does show more flash marking, but is still quite light for a used wheelgun. The barrel is in great condition and sights and rib are undamaged. This revolver is a great addition for any fan of Ruger revolvers or someone looking for a classic .44 Magnum.
