The Smith & Wesson Model 64 is a stainless steel 6-shot K-frame revolver chambered in .38 S&W Special +P. The revolver is effectively a S&W Model 10, but in stainless steel. The Model 64 was introduced in 1970 and produced until 2021. The Model 64 was a popular choice for law enforcement during the transition period when many agencies were beginning to trade their service revolvers for newfangled semi-autos, such as the Glock and 3rd Generation S&W autos. This Model 64 is a 64-8, the last version of the Model 64, and was made in July of 2004. The 64-8 features a two-piece barrel construction, is a 3-screw stainless K-frame, has a frame cylinder lock, transfer bar safety, and is a double/single-action revolver. This revolver is fitted with a set of checkered rubber grips with finger grooves. The sights are made up of a textured front ramp and groove rear sight with a matte top surface to reduce glare. The left side of the grips has "3-R6" carved into the rubber, so it is possible that this revolver was once a duty-issued revolver, even in the early 2000s—or at least possibly part of a department armory. Lockup and timing on this revolver is very good and the finish is also good, with only light wear marks. The barrel is in very good condition and does not appear to be shot a lot, with a clean barrel and near-perfect rifling. This revolver does not include a box or case. .38 Special + P
