Description:
Antique Swiss Army 1893 SIG-Mannlicher cavalry carbine, one of only 4250 made by SIG Neuhausen in 1895. In 1896 the Waffenfabrik Bern took over production. As the 1889 Schmidt- Rubin straight pull action was to long for a cavalry carbine, SIG came up with Mannlicher straight bolt action design. The bolt was complicated, making it hard to strip and reassemble.  That, combined with the stiff recoil, made the carbine unpopular with the troops.
Good bore, original blue metal finish, intact walnut stock, all matching serial numbers. Scarce original leather sling is included!  21.6" barrel with mirror bright bore, OAL=40.1", LOP=12.2", weight=6.8 lbs. 6-round detachable box magazine, cal. 7.5x53.5mm (Gewehrpatrone 1890). Add this scarce carbine to your collection.
