Description:
This is an original, matching example of the ultra rare Colt Baby Paterson Pocket Model No. 1 revolver.  Beginning in 1937, this is one of only ~500 ever produced, and this particular example is an Ehlers model with the added loading lever.  Also referred to as the Ehlers 4th Model, these were completed by John Ehlers after his acquisition of Samuel Colt's Patent Arms Manufacturing Co.  Ehlers was one of the earliest investors in said company, and he ended up purchasing ~500 Paterson No. 1 and No. 2  revolvers at .  He then had loading levers with retaining spring and the cylinder with rounded rear.  The barrel is marked "Patent Arms Paterson. N.J.-Colt's Pt" but is faint/worn over time.  The five-shot cylinder features the centaur scene and 'Colt' trademark.  All numbers on this example match, and photos of the internals are included in the listing.  Three inch barrel with visible rifling inside, but also some pitting throughout.  The bluing on the gun is original but worn throughout, with the sides of the frame showing the most remaining blue.  The timing and lockup are somewhat off on this example, and unfortunately, there are cracks in the hammer so this revolver shouldn't be fired.
