Description:
This is an original Remington M1867 Rolling Block Carbine Barrel in 50-45 caliber with the serial #46 28. The M1867 was produced circa 1868-1869 with 5,000 being delivered to the Navy and an over run of 95 carbines being sold commercially. The M1867 Carbine utilized a 23" round barrel, with a short forend, secured by a single barrel band with a sling swivel. This 23" barrel is used in good condition, gray silver finish with some scattered pitting with front sight. Marked with an Anchor on the top, 46 28 on the side and V over P on the bottom. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny, three grove, strong rifling no pitting. Drilled and tapped top and bottom.
