Description: Fine WII Regimentally Marked Mauser 1914 7.65MM Pistol -Police Issue Offered here for sale and just acquired is this fine military marked Mauser 1914 7.65mm auto pistol undoubetly used in WWI. Fine vintage Mauser Model 1914 7.65mm pistol with regimental identification on inner gripstrap. All matching serial number 248692 with condition being very good with traces of fading blue overall. The inner gripstrap is stamped "S.B. 1913. which translates to the German Sea Battalion (Seebataillon) which were the Marines equivalent in the German Navy and date of 1913. This Model 1914 in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) caliber, stands out for its regimental marking, and matching numbers. The manufacturer as stamped on slide is Mauser-Werke A.G., Oberndorf . The serial Number 248692 is consistent with mid-to-late wartime production, likely 1916–1918. All matching numbers. Overall the pistol is in very good condition with original bluing faded in places and turning in parts to a grey patina. Fine bore. Sharp markings and intact strong grips. In addition the pistol is stamped with the regimental marking: "S.B. 1913." Found on the inner gripstrap, a prime location for German regimental/unit designations. The "1913" likely signifies unit identification, weapon issuance, or potentially assignment year. Seebataillon-marked weapons are not common and have strong imperial naval and colonial associations (e.g., Kiautschou, East Africa, or WWI-era Flanders deployments). Additionally the slide is marked “1920”.This was commonly applied to military firearms reissued to Weimar Republic police units or security services after WWI. The "1920" stamp was not a date of manufacture, but a property mark to signify compliance with the Treaty of Versailles restrictions. This suggest postwar police or civil use, possibly in the 1920s–early 1930s. Seebataillon markings significantly boost historical and collector interest — especially given the rarity. The 1920 stamp adds a layer of Weimar-era history, showing its reuse post-war. Thanks for your bid. Shipping for this item is $34 however final shipping amount is based upon geographical area.
