Description:
Holland & Holland No. 2 Model Hammerless Ejector 12 gauge. Made in 1923, serial 29578 (matching) has 30-inch barrels (C/IC, 2.5-inch chambers, ejectors). Particulars include an automatic safety and cocking indicators (gold line). ENGRAVING: The receiver, tangs, lever, safety, forend iron and screws are dressed in elegant bordered scroll. Screws are fire blued. “SAFE” and the original pair numbers (2) are gold. Initial plate is embellished “TG”. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.8 pounds. Length-of pull is 15.2 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.5 inches, and the cast off is approximately .30-inch. CONDITION: Bores and chambers are bright with but the occasional trace roughness and spots of mild brown. Barrels are on face and ring delightfully. Receiver face shows roughness around the pins. Ejectors operate with enthusiasm and the balance of mechanics are solid. Barrel finish is approximately 50 percent with thinning and spotting. Action finish has fully silvered with some rust spots on the guard and lower tang. Splinter has a minor chip (front right). Butt has a hairline at the toe (will be professionally addressed upon request with an associated shipping delay). PROVENANCE: Printed copies of the ledger sheets are included.
