m1855 TYPE 1 Civil War PERCUSSION RIFLE MUSKET & Bayonet .... LAYAWAY?...Features the Maynard tape priming system with eagle. Lock is stamped "US SPRINGFIELD" and dated 1860. The barrel breech has the VP eagle head stamp. Features three bands, brass tip, metal tulip rod, front sight that locks in bayonet, two leaf folding rear sight, and full length walnut stock. Originally finished in the white, this barrel has been browned at one time.
CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains vast majority of the browned finish. The breech near nipple shows salt and pepper texture. Lock and hammer are dark with sharp legends. Bands are grey brown patina. Stock cartouche on left side is partially visible but not legible. Stock is solid with usual scattered dings and impressions. The Bore is good, and well defined with some minor abrasion. Comes with a US marked bayonet thaty fits the musket snuggly,
