These are among our favorite rifles..(.bought one for myself recently) These spectacular rifles are a scaled down version of the signature and famous around the glove Mark V actions. Orig. Mark Vs knows for their superior strenght (most) have 9 lugs while the smaller Varmintmaster has 6 allowing for a shorter actioon to accomodate the two chamberings ...224 Weatherby and 22-250. Produced from 1963 to 1994...(and re introduced in 2025 though cheapended and no where near as nice as the originals). These have been made iin Germany and Japan we prefer the Jap version as the wood is always nicer and it is believed by some that the Japanes steel is better.
Balistically very similar the advantage of the 22-250 chambering is its is LOT cheaper to shoot than the 224. This very handsome rifle has some handling marks...none terrible. We are calling the condtion about 89% but not pitted and not all banged up. 24" barrel. Designed as a long range hot varmint rifle ...in the hands of a careful shooter it should also be hell on deer with velocities not much under a 220 Swift but with much greater barrel life.
We have many excellent used scopes that would go nicely with this fine gun
