Description:
Serial #G1271, 7mm Mauser, 29" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that retains 97-98% of the original blue, with some very faint silvering at the muzzle and on some of the projecting edges. The bolt latch, rear slight slider, and barrel band retainers retains about 90% of their original bright fire bluing, with most of the loss occurring on the nosecap retainer, The bolt is finished in-the-white and is in excellent condition, although it is numbered to a different gun. All markings in the metal are crisp and clear, and a small additional number was engraved into the left side of the receiver ring just below the serial number. The matching stock and handguard are in fine shape with only a few minor handling marks and bruises scattered about the original varnish, and the stamps and markings are sharp and clear. This is a fine-excellent example of a Chilean small-ring Mauser, and would make a splendid addition to any collection. Antique;
