This charming Midland Gun Company .410 hammer side-by-side exemplifies the classic British smallbore in its most elegant and dainty form. Manufactured in Birmingham, England, this lightweight 4 lb 1 oz double features a back-action hammer design with double triggers and 28" barrels choked Improved Cylinder and Full. The solid concave rib is topped with a silver front bead, and the gun retains very good as-found condition with lovely aged finishes throughout. Few spots bores but overall mostly clear. Stocked with a round knob pistol grip walnut stock and matching forend, the gun shoulders beautifully and balances like a wand. Built for the small game hunter or fine shotgun enthusiast, this dainty .410 comes complete in its original maker’s canvas case with felt-lined interior. A delightful and highly functional piece of English gunmaking heritage.
