The barrel reads: Made in Belgium - imported by Browning Arms Co. St. Louis Mo. Based off the info below, I believe this firearm was made in the early 1950‚s. **The earliest date a 16 gauge was completed and accepted was serial number X1019 on December 12, 1946. The earliest documented shipment to Browning is January 14, 1947.\" The numbers range from X1001, 1/15/47 to X99999, 9/19/53** Condition: this gun has some wear on it. The wood has scuffs and dings, the barrel has scratches and bluing wearing off, the butt plate is rough, and the screw heads show rust, and the receiver has pitting.
