Description:
KOREA WORLD WAR II SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 GARAND .30-06 Infantry Rifle C&R

c1944 mfr. w/BAYONET, SHEATH, 9 CLIPS

Here we present a C&R Springfield U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured in 1944 at Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts. This .30-06 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”

As mentioned above, it is known that some of these rifles were provided as foreign aid to our allies. This example has Korean military markings on the stock. It has a “NM” (national match) marked operating rod. Springfield barrel with 1965 date marking. This rifle was likely used by Korean Nationals supporting this United States during the Korean War. This example includes a bayonet, sheath, nine clips, and a Korean canvas sling.

The overall condition is good. Original finish/patina. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with good rifling. The bore measures .307. The stock shows much use and remains solid. Korean military markings. Faint import marking on the barrel. This would have been something either left in country or given to the South Korean government for military use.

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 24 inches.

Caliber: .30-06 Springfield
