Promoted as Schuetzen rifles, the 39 series, which included the Model 3922 in .22 caliber rimfire and the Model 3925s in .25-20 WCF, both having 26-inch barrels. They were stocked in English walnut with a checkered wrist and forearm with the buttstock fitted with a nickel Schuetzen buttplate. According to Hopkins & Allen advertising, they were “intended for the finest target work and meet every requirement for the man who knows and wants a perfect rifle”. In 1908 they were advertised at $12 each with an additional $4.50 required if supplied with Lyman Combination sights. The Hopkins & Allen Manufacturing Company of Norwich, Connecticut was founded in 1866. The name was changed to Hopkins & Allen Arms Company in 1896 and continued until the company was taken over by Marlin-Rockwell Corporation in 1914. Hopkins & Allen was known mainly for their revolvers, but the firm did start manufacturing single shot rifles like this one in 1888. The company also produced several of both single shot and side-by-side shotguns. This Falling Block was chambered in a variety of calibers ranging from .22 rimfire through .38-55 WCF. Its single shot action would have been great to teach a young lad the importance of making every shot count! This one features an octagonal barrel. The overall condition is good. Original, smooth brown patina. Strong action. The stock and forend are in good condition showing average amounts of handling wear, but solid throughout. Dimmed bore with serviceable rifling. Deep checkering on the wrist while softened on the foreend. Clear markings. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: .25-20 Winchester Center Fire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
