32785-VERY EARLY PRE-WW1 WWI RARE ROCK ISLAND U.S. MODEL 1903 RIFLE SERIAL NUMBER 7917 MFG. 9-1906. 100% original pre-stock bolt Model 1903 .30-06 rifle date stamped behind front sight “R I A/ ORDNANCE BOMB/ 9-06”. 100% original in every respect with original no bolt stock and matching hand guard with no slot cut. Crisp original rectangular Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche on side panel. One of the first .30-06 Rock Island rifles produced after the 1905 change from ramrod bayonet. Excellent overall with original greying case hardening and the blue with nicely mixed patina. Wood with the original finish. Has all the original parts to the last screw. Working order and excellent bore. With original issue U.S. 1903 leather sling. Very scarce. $5500.
