S/N 42597 made in 1884. Overall condition is outstanding, showing very strong and consistent bluing throughout with some nice case colors remaining on the hammer, lever, and trigger. The loading gate shows vivid fire blue. There are a few light rubs on the receiver walls and high edges, rated approximately 95%. The wood is nearly as fine, having never been sanded or repaired, showing only typical light handling marks/scrapes and a couple of isolated mars, rated approximately 90%. There are no cracks anywhere, nor any other notable detractors. Original sights include a german silver front and standard issue ladder type rear which is graduated to 1000 yards and correctly stamped 1876. The action's dust cover is tight and smooth with strong bluing. The steel crescent buttplate is in excellent shape as well and has a smooth sliding trap door with a 5 section steel cleaning rod present. The excellent bore is bright and shiny throughout its length. The mechanical functions are all working flawlessly, tight and crisp throughout.
