32692-EXCEPTIONAL HACKER MARTIN VIRGINIA CURLY MAPLE SILVER MOUNTED FLINTLOCK LONG RIFLE. 55” o/a with .45 caliber rifled 40 ½” octagon barrel signed on top flat “HACKER MARTIN FOR V.V. HORNEY”. 11 silver inlays including 8 forend inlays and an 8 point “STAR OF BETHLEHEM” on the cheek rest. Made in 1967 at Hacker’s mill in Appomattox, Virginia for Mr. V. V. Horney of Linden, Virginia using Hacker’s fabulous curly maple which he sawed and aged himself. Hacker made double set triggers and early Maslin, Warranted 1st generation lock. Excellent overall and in working order with bright bore. Hacker barrel and mounts. Superb example of his work with documentation copy from the late Mr. Horney himself. Superb rifle by the last of the pre-contemporary traditional longrifle gunmakers. $3500.
