32433- INSCRIBED MEXICAN WAR-CIVIL WAR HARPERS FERRY U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION MUSKET. 42” smoothbore .69 cal. barrel with added rear sight. Lock plate dated 1847 and stamped “HARPERS/FERRY” and “EAGLE/U.S”. Stock with name “J.B. DRENNER” carved on left butt. All original with wear. Forward sling swivel missing. Metal with old dark patina. Stock with the original finish. Lock in working order. Dark bore. Approximately a dozen soldiers with last name “DRENNER” served in the Union and Confederate Armies during the War but none listed with the initials “J.B.”. Shows definite signs of Confederate use however. $3700.
