Description:
The Marlin Model 1897 Century, Limited Edition Commemorative, lever-action rifle was manufactured in 1997 to commemorate the Model 1897’s 100th anniversary.  It is chambered in .22 and has a 24-inch half round/half octagon barrel, a tube magazine, open sights, and a checkered fancy walnut stock and forearm.  Per the original instruction manual, the tube magazine holds nineteen .22 short, fifteen .22 long, or thirteen .22 long rifle cartridges.  The receiver, lever, and bolt are extensively engraved and gold-color accented.  The overall length of the rifle is 40 inches, and its overall unloaded weight six pounds.  The original Owner’s Manual, the original brochure of Marlin Sporting Firearms, the original Styrofoam container, the original sleeve, and the original shipping cardboard box are included with this purchase.  Only 2,500 of these rifles were manufacture in 1997 only.  Based on the serial number, 18970052, this rifle is number 52.

This rifle itself is in new condition, with no marks, blemishes, or signs of wear on any of its metal and wood components – barrel, receiver, lever, stock, forearm, butt plate, etc.  I believe the rifle has never fired since originally purchased.
