32761 WHITNEY ROLLING BLOCK .38-40 CAL. U.S.I.D. INDIAN POLICE RIFLE CIRCA 1880’S. 28” octagon barrel stamped on bottom flat “38 CAL C.F.W.” and “U.S.I.D.” for United States Dept. of Interior. Both Remington and Whitney supplied arms to the department for use on the Indian Reservations for use by Indian Police and others. This shows the signs of Indian use with the old leather trade tack secured wrist wrapping. 100% original Indian rifle. Still in working order and has a fairly good bore. Rear sight a replacement but still has the original nickel blade front sight. Colorful and rare. $1750.
