Description:
 A Very Early & Scarce Pre Civil War "D.H. HILLARD" Underhammer Short Rifle Or Buggy Rifle In Excellent Plus Untouched Condition. All original and complete. Circa 1840's to 1850's. The rifle has excellent plus metal, markings, and edges. The heavy octagon barrel is marked "D.H. HILLARD/CORNISH/N.H."  The deluxe sight & underhammer are both excellent and retain their original dark case colors on them. The brass underneath the trigger guard is fine and untouched. The trigger guard is untouched & shows some light peppering. The wood stock on the rifle is excellent throughout and retains its original finish on it. The original ramrod still has its worm attachment on its end. The rifle measures 35 inches in length and the barrel is 18 inches long. The bore measures 3/8 inches and the action is excellent in it. This Is A Very High Quality And High Condition Example Of A Very Early & Scarce Pre Civil War "D.H. HILLARD" Underhammer Short Rifle Or Buggy Rifle That Would Be A Great addition To Any Fine Collection!
