Offered here is a truly rare and elegant Cosmi Lusso 20 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun, built in 1966 and showcasing the unmistakable break-action Cosmi design—a marvel of both mechanical ingenuity and aesthetic craftsmanship.
This unique Italian shotgun features a 25.5" barrel choked Modified (.023") and the famed break-open semi-auto mechanism, with the internal tubular magazine capable of holding 2+1 or 7+1 rounds, depending on configuration. The ventilated matted rib is topped with a gold front bead for quick target acquisition.
The action is tastefully engraved in five chevrons of scroll on each side, with two on the underside surrounding a gold inlaid grouse. The engraving is masterfully signed by B. & B. Bonsi Brothers, celebrated Italian engravers known for their work on fine sporting arms.
Mechanically, the gun is in excellent condition—smooth cycling, crisp trigger, tight lockup. Cosmi’s legendary screwless design (over 100 parts fitted entirely by hand) ensures long-lasting precision and functionality. The blued finish remains deep and even, with only faint signs of age.
The walnut stock and forend are beautifully figured, featuring a round knob pistol grip, sharp hand-cut checkering, and a classic European profile.
