Superb WWII Era Remington Model 11 12 GA Shotgun C. 1943-44
Offered here for sale is a vintage 1943-44 Remington Model 11 12 GA Sportsman semi-auto shotgun in pristine condition. 26" barrel. Serial number 711177. Improved cylinder. 2-3/4" chamber. This specimen with serial number 711177 places it toward the end of the wartime production run. Remington's Model?11 serials ran from about 500,000 (August?1943) until a jump into the 700,000 range shortly thereafter with 711,177 coming in just above that, it's most likely produced late 1943 to early 1944.
This gun retains its “Imp?Cyl.” barrel, with nearly all original metal and wood—checkered pistol grip and forearm—showing only minimal wear. Retains just about all of its original finish on metal and wood with checkered pistol grip and forearm exhibits only light use. Only one slight "flaw" on left side of barrel where the choke stamping exists otherwise it shows very little if any use.
The barrel length 26″ marked “Improved Cylinder,” smooth early stock—typical of higher-grade Models of that era. Manufactured around late 1943 or very early 1944, making this a late-war Model?11—one of the final production examples before the design was phased out in 1947 certainly puts it in the “collectible” area. Overall, it’s a vintage wartime Model?11 in excellent original condition.
