Description:
Weatherby Mark V SVM Super Varmint Master chambered in .220 Swift.

Weatherby produced these in the early 2000s as a task-specific varminter, chambered in .223, .22-250, .220 Swift, .243, 7mm-08, and .308.  They quickly sold out, ceased production and discontinued.  They have been desirable and scarce since.  They have a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest factory rifles for accuracy ever made.

These rifles feature a scaled down Weatherby bolt, with six interrupted lugs instead of the usual nine as found in the standard magnum Mark V bolt.

The barrels are 410 stainless Krieger Criterion, button rifled, double cryogenically treated, and hand lapped.  They have an 11-degree parabolic target crown and are fluted. Barrel is 26 inches.

The stocks were made for Weatherby by Bell & Carlson, are hand-laminated, and feature the usual Monte Carlo profile of Weatherby stocks.

These were offered with a standard floorplate and magazine, and also as a single shot for those seeking enhanced accuracy.  This is a single shot version, which was the only way the .220 Swift was offered due to cartridge length.

With an action base of solid steel, which is bedded into a long CNC-machined aluminum bedding block and fitted tightly into the composite stock, accuracy is astounding and superb, sub .5 MOA and then some.  It loves 55-grain V-Max and Varget.

I bought this rifle new and am the original owner.  It has 280 rounds through it.  I never sat above a dog town with it, only engaged steel and shot paper at the range, so it has never been shot hot.  Three rounds and then let cool.  Barrel cleaned properly and always with a fitted bore guide.  Meticulously maintained

There is one small bit of safe rash on the bolt – see photo.  Otherwise, it is in pristine condition and will impress.  Comes with original box, hang tag, and a set of 30mm tube Talley lightweight one-piece mounts that will accommodate an objective up to 50mm.

These don’t come up often, so if you’ve been seeking one, you will be pleased with this example.

Thanks for looking.
