This Colt was produced in 1939. The pistol's serial number is C 197343. This 45 A.C.P. National Match pistol has the correct MB in a circle stamped on the left side barrel lug. It also has the Colt 45 Auto Match stamped under the left side of the barrel above the barrel lug. The bore is in very fine condition. This pistol is also fitted with the rare Swartz safety device. The Swartz safety is fully functional and works correctly. This Colt also has the very rare adjustable rear sight. This adjustable rear sight was seldom seen on these National Match pistols. There were about 1475 of these sights fitted to the pre war National Match pistols! This Colt has the matching serial numbered slide. The serial number is stamped inside the firing pin chamber. The original bluing would rate a 85% or better condition. Most of the blue loss is by the grip frame. This magazine is the correct all blued magazine for this pistol with the Colt 45 Auto stamped on the magazine floor plate. The wood grips are original to this Colt. The grips are in fine condition. The checkering is sharp with high points. There is no cracks or other damage to these grips. This is a very fine rare Colt for the discerning collector to acquire for their collection! The box of shells is for display only and not for sale.
