Description:
The S&W Perfected Model was made from 1909 to 1920, serial range 1 to 59,400. These 5-shot top break revolvers were fitted with either a 3 1/4, 4, 5, or 6 inch barrel, "S&W" monogram checkered hard rubber grip, trigger guard is an integral part of the frame, identifiable by having both a top latch and side latch, blue or nickel finished, and chambered in .38 S&W. This Perfected Model is as described and is fitted with a 6 inch barrel and is blue finished. This first year production (serial #: 2056) Perfected Model is in good original condition, retaining 30% original blue, with most loss due to flaking and then improper cleaning, and some corrosion spotting, due to poor storage. The bore is excellent, is bright with sharp rifling. The action functions perfectly in double action mode, in single action mode when the hammer is slowly cocked it does not fully lock up on one of the cylinders until the trigger is squeezed, bringing the hand up and rotating the cylinder until it locks in place. When cocked quickly in single action mode it functions perfectly. The grips fit very well and are in very fine condition, showing little wear and only a few very minor chips on the left grip panel, and no cracks. Revolver is all numbers matching (Frame to cylinder, barrel, top latch, & grips). A decent example of a somewhat rare type. CURIO & RELIC
