Engraving is sharp and clear. 32 3/4 inch octagon barrel with hinged breech. Marked TRYON. PHILADA. on the barrel as well as on the lock. Double set triggers. Fine mechanical function. Wood is sharp with sharp original checkering, some very light handling marks. Original lollipop rear sight, as well as original rear barrel sight and tubular front sight. There is a German silver escutcheon plate on the bottom of the stock that is engraved Jas. T. Morris April 15, 1862. We have been unable to identifiy Mr. Morris or the significance of the date, however the Civil War Battle of Picacho Pass in Arizona happened on that date, we do not believe them to be related.
