Description:
Pre 64 Winchester 1894 in 30-30, 26” Octagonal barrel. SN 875827 puts this at 1920 Date. Overall condition is good with about 75% original blue remaining. Receiver shows some thinning along the edges but holds a generous amount of original high polish blue with some age freckling. Barrel retains majority of its finish. Front sight was modified long ago, rear sight is original. No cracks on the stock. Rifling is strong & shows light traces of fouling. Overall A very accurate rifle.
Action functions as it should. The loading gate can get a little stubborn if you push cartridge all the way in, like all older winchesters, but if you push the cartridge enough to keep just the rim sticking out until the next round, it will load easy. The last cartridge loaded in the gate can be stubborn but a thorough cleaning should clear this up.
