Description:
Colt Lightning Rifle manufactured in 1885. 38-40 with 26" round barrel and full magazine. I will rate the bore a 6.5 on a scale from 1 to 10. Correct front sight and replaced rear sight. Magazine tube plug is an interesting set up. Previous owner used an old 300 mag shell casing (see pic). Both forend and buttstock are in good condition, buttstock has had some non factory checkering applied. Correct rifle buttplate. Overall finish on rifle is a combination of: brown / gray patina, some cold blue, and original blue. All in all a decent antique Colt Rifle offered at a very reasonable price.
