Although there are few Markings on this musket it appears to be a French (or possibly Austrian) Civil War import musket. I also assume it started life as a flintlock and was converted in 1837 to percussion. The full length 42.5" barrel is approximately 70 rifled caliber. the full 3 band wood stock has a large circle cartouche on the right side and 2 cartouches on the left and is in very good condition. The percussion lock functions well. All metal parts have a grey brown patina with scattered pitting. Both sling swivels and ramrod are present. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
